Resumen


Este artículo tiene como objetivo esencial evaluar las
oportunidades para el desarrollo industrial cubano, frente a las regularidades más importantes que han caracterizado la evolución del sector en las últimas dos décadas a nivel mundial. Se hace especial énfasis en los efectos de esas tendencias en la configuración de una estrategia que tribute a reconstruir el tejido industrial de la nación. Se demuestra que los aspectos relativos al posicionamiento externo han sido determinantes para
explicar la pérdida de capacidades en la mayoría de los componentes del tejido industrial. El análisis de las propuestas más recientes muestra que estos elementos no se han incorporado de manera orgánica, por lo que se sugiere combinar una mayor integración en los flujos de comercio e inversión foráneos con la estructuración de núcleos internos de gran escala y capacidad de arras­ tre, como la agroindustria cañera y otros. / The present paper is aimed at evaluating opportunities for Cuban industrial development, facing the most important
regularities that have characterized the sector's interna­
tional evolution fo r the last two decades. Special emphasis
is placed on such tendencies' impact as to designing a strategy that contributes to the rebuilding of the nation's industrial web. This work also proves that the topics related with the external standing have been decisive to explain the loss of capacities in most of the industrial web components.
The analysis o f the most recent proposals show that these
elements have not integrated themselves in an organic way,
which is why the present paper suggests to combine a larger integration of trade and foreign investments flows, with
the structuring o f internal cores, at high scale and pulling
power, such as sugar cane industry and others.
